Our guests are able to experience history as they enjoy delicious cuisine in a building that is over 100 years old! In 1910, the building was first built and later served as a roadside inn that was a popular hangout for the locals. It is situated in Schuylkill County also known as the Anthracite Coal Region which brought with it immigrants who flocked to the area for work. To experience the coal mining time period, tours are offered by Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine in Ashland, PA which is only a short distance from Romano’s Restaurant. Tourists often come to the area where Romano’s is situated to appreciate outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, and golfing. In addition, people travel from many different states to hike the Appalachian Trail. Our guests can experience for themselves after fueling up on delicious cuisine at our restaurant by heading up the road less than five minutes from the restaurant to start hiking at Bake Oven Knob situation over the Blue Mountain. Along your travels, one key highlight is Hawk Mountain Sanctuary which has over 2,200 acres of wildlife refuge.
